Veteran Homewatch, Concierge, and Handyman Service of Marco Island, Florida, has earned accreditation from the NHWA for the fourth year.
We have since established strong relationships with reputable contractors, servicemen, and technicians across various industries. We also handle many minor repairs ourselves. Our designation as a Certified Home Watch Professional (CHWP) from the NHWA highlights our commitment to providing excellent service to our clients.
Always Have a Plan in Place! Lesson Learned!
In September 2017, owner James Lavery was living in Alexandria, Virginia, while also owning a condominium on Marco Island, which he visited only a few times a year. When Hurricane Irma made landfall as a Category 3 storm with 115-mph winds, Jim’s condo suffered significant damage. The front door was blown off its hinges, and for approximately 45 minutes, projectiles flew through the condo, shattering the glass doors to the lanai and damaging floors, ceilings, walls, and furniture. This experience taught Jim the critical importance of having a hurricane preparedness plan and a reliable Home Watch company. |
Owner James Lavery
Jim has an impressive background, having served as a director of planning and zoning, code enforcement, and building inspection. He has worked for the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Pennsylvania Department of Community Affairs. Born and raised in southwestern Pennsylvania, Jim graduated from California University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in Urban and Rural Planning and Management and pursued graduate studies in Urban Geography. A four-year veteran of the United States Air Force, Jim served at the Los Angeles Air Force Station Space and Missile Organization and in a Reconnaissance Squadron at Alconbury Air Force Base in England. Jim became a permanent resident of Marco Island in 2019.
